Aging
What is it like to be 93?
Well, I’m still hanging in there
And well it might be
As I try to keep busy
I feel that I must
My theory – it’s better
to wear out than rust.
Oh, I have a few problems
some pains here and there
I don’t fancy standing
Much better a chair –
or in my recliner
with feet up quite steep
Then turn on the TV
and fall fast asleep.
The best way to longevity it seems
is to choose parents
who have those good genes.
Of course, we can’t do that
so what we can do
is keep our thoughts positive
all the day through.
And also another thing —
if that’s not enough –
Remember the adage,
“Don’t sweat the small stuff.”
In closing, remember these words
that were told –
“It’s not how old you are
but how you are old!
