An Adirondack Morning
In a comfortable Adirondack chair
feet up on the railing
a cup of fresh-brewed coffee
in one hand, bagel in the other
I gaze out at the lake
and watch as a light mist slowly
rises, and is escorted away.
In the calm, clear water
red-gold foliage on the opposite shore
is reflected on the smooth surface —
a true double-exposure.
As the sun mounts higher, a breeze
again appears, rippling the surface.
Suddenly the picture is gone —
Or is it still there, hidden in the ripples?
A loon calls — a perfect Adirondack day!
