  Note	Was apprenticed to a barber-surgeon , Edward Harris and his wife, in Bristol for a term of seven years, 13 March 1614/5. By 1628, he was married and living in Bristol where he became responsible for a barber-surgeon apprentice. From the apprentice records it is believed he was born about 1600. Sometimes termed 'freeman' of the city of Bristol. In 1629, his father Francis senoir, executed a lease to his son 'Frauncis Brewster Chirurgeon' for a 'tenement' at the annual rental of one peppecorn. Came to America around 1638 and is an early settler at New Haven with a family of nine in 1641. In 1640/1, he was named 'Francis Brewster of Newhaven in the New England Chirurgeon' in a document filed in Bristol, England. In 1642, he called himself 'late of Traley in the County of Limerick in the Kingdom of Ireland' which would describe his residence just prior to sailing to America. In 1644, he took the oath of fidelity. He is said to have been the second wealthiest man in the colony, second to Governor Theophilus Eaton, and worth over ú1000 sterling. Captain Lamberston of New Haven formed a company to build and operate a vessel in marine trading. Francis subscribed ú50. Contemporary accounts criticized the construction of the vessel, but although it was called unseaworthy, in 1646, it sailed for England, with Francis 'and divers other Godly persons' aboard. The ship and passengers were lost at sea. In that same year 1646, LucyBrewster is found holding seat in the New Haven Church (her husband is not included). She soon married Dr. Thomas Pell, and spent her later years in Fairfield, Conn. She died before 1669 as her husband in his will, made that year,states 'God has taken to himself my beloved Lucy.'
