Born March 1, 1918, in Oolitic, she was the daughter of Marion Claude and Earah Blance (Thomas) Holtsclaw. She was a homemaker and member of the Heltonville Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Jesse Jewell; three sons, Marion George Jewell of Illinois, Gordon Morris Jewell of California and Marlin Keith Jewell of Fort Ritner; two daughters, Nelva Joane Salmon and Jesselyn Pfleider, both of Bedford; one brother, Merlin Darrell Holtsclaw; one sister, Edith Armstrong; 27 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters and one foster brother. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Cresthaven Funeral Home in Bedford with the Rev. James Stevens officiation. Burial will be at Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
