- BIO: William Bainbridge Dillingham son of Enos and Clarissa (Virgin) Dillingham. Born 1836, Dixfield, Maine. He was a sailor and carpenter. He served in the Civil War as follows: Private (of Dracut, Mass), Company E, 5th Maine Infantry, mustered in 24 June 1861; discharged 28 September 1861. Private (of Falmouth, Mass), acting drum major, Company D, 12th Maine Infantry; mustered in 15 November 1861. Musician, Company A, 50th Mass. Infantry (9 months); enlisted 15 October 1862; mustered out 24 August 1863. Enlisted in 4th Mass. Light Battery, 25 February 1864; dropped from the rolls 1 June 1864. He was not heard from by his family after the Red River campaign under General Banks, when he probably lost his life. He married Frances A. ______. (____), who was born in Camden, Maine. She married second, _______ Fletcher of Lowell. Children (Dillingham) born at Lowell: i Henry C. born 18 November 1856; died 6 June 1862, at Lowell. ii William Francis born 26 November 1859; died 15 February 1880, Portsmouth, NH.; unmarried. iii Clarissa born 16 June 1863; died 18 August 1866, at Lowell.
