- BIO: Enos, second son of Melatiah Dillingham and his second wife, Elizabeth 'Betsey' (Chandler) Dillingham, lived most of his life in Dixfield, Maine. He married Clarissa Virgin about 1826, and although they had five children prior to 1840, Enos was not enumerated as head of family in the census until 1850. He was a cabinetmaker and lived next door to his brother George in the town of Dixfield. His property valuation was $1500. Clarissa died between August 1850 and November 1855 when Enos married Elizabeth Benjamin, daughter of Nathaniel and Betsey (Chase) Benjamin. She was born in Livermore 21 November 1816 and died in Dixfield, 5 March 1889. In the 1870 census of Dixfield, Oxford County, members of his household in addition to his wife and the two children of his second marriage, were his half-sister Betsey who never married, and his daughter Abby of his first marriage. Enos died in 1876, and his widow, died in 1889.
