- MARK SANBORN was born 4 March 1750 in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire; died 27 July 1821 in Bath, New Hampshire. He married Ester Cleveland 24 February 1777 [5 Apr 1777] probably near Haverhill, New Hampshire. Ester Cleveland was born 24 July 1754; died 22 November 1796 in Bath. Mark Sanborn moved to Haverhill with his brothers before the Revolutionary War. With the outbreak of the war, he enlisted, serving from 1775 to 1781. He served in Colonel Warner's regimemnt in Jerseys, 1775; in Captain Barron's company for defense or Connecticut River frontier; and was in Colonel Bedel's regiment in April 1778. According to one source, 'The danger from the war did not prevent some settlers from coming (to Bath, N.H.) before its close. Mark Sanborn came in 1779, and pitched on the farm now owned by Warren Bass (1855) - his was one of the first settlements in the east part of the town. After the war was over, Mark returned to Bath to farm his land. The first town meeting held in Bath was 26 July 1784. At this meeting, Mark was chosen constable of the town. Other persons chosen for offices included his brother, Capt. Ebenezer Sanborn as a selectman, a highway surveyor, and the pound keeper; and his father-in-law, Elisha Cleveland as the hogs reeve. Beulah, b. 14 Mar. 1786, died 17 August 1840 at Brockport, NY; buried at Clarkston, NY; married Joseph Searle, s/o Edward, at Bath, NH. He was b. in Temple, NH, died while in route with family from New Hampshire to Brockport, NY. vi. Enoch, b. 27 July 1788; married Lois Elliott; moved west near Painesville, Ohio. vii. Ruth Paine, b. 14 July 1790; died 16 June 1848 at Conewango, NY; married Richard Goodwin of Conewango, brother to Ezra who married Sarah. viii.
