  Note	There is very little documentation on Samuel's life, but we know he was a farmer and inherited 109 acres of land (Horton-Cornwallis) which he eventually sold to Joseph Newcomb Jr. on the 23 March 1809. It would seem that this might be the time that Samuel removed from Pereau in the extreme NE part of Cornwallis Twp. to the area near Berwick and Sommerset, very near the Aylesford Twp. line. Berwick in 1820 was a wilderness and it is difficult imagining him with a young family hewing his new home out of the forest, somewhat like his brother Benjamin Jr. did in Hants Co. No deeds or will were found, nor was his estate probated. Since Jonathan, Mary, and Amelia all married in Berwick, it is obvious that he must have been in that neigborhood. His sons Jonathan and John also lived on farms in the same area most likey on land deeded to them by their dad. John expressed a desire in his will that 'he be buried next to my honoured father' which leads us to believe that Samuel was buried on his own land. John's farm was East of Berwick and indications suggest that Samuel's was west of Berwick close th the North Mountain.
